Admissions / Prerequisites
Students enter the Spanish program at different levels, depending on their previous experience with the language.
A minimum of 36 credit hours taken at the 212 level and above including the following:
Three foundational courses (taken in any order) from the following: Span 300, Span 301, Span 302, Span 309, Span 310, Span 311, Span 312, Span 316, Span 317, Span 318.
At least three electives from the following: Span 212, Span 300-level course, Span 400-level course, LACS 101, Ling 101, Port 110, any other relevant courses by petition of the DUS.
At least four courses at the Span 400 level.
Maximum of 12 credits for major from study abroad. Programs directed by departmental faculty are excluded from this maximum.
At least one 400-level seminar taught by departmental faculty.
